Subliminal Messages in Music

 

   In my last blog post I shared to you about the law of attraction and how the subconscious mind affect your way of life. In this topic i will tell you about the manipulation on the subliminal messages. Many researchers and normal people are intrigued by this topic.

  

   Have you ever imagine someone controlling your subconscious mind? Have you ever felt like getting mad or violent because of a song? What if I tell you that this occurrence is in our daily life? Subliminal messages are everywhere especially in our modern society. Right now I will focus on the subliminal messages in the music industry.

   As I was going through articles about subliminal messages in music I found this article called "Are Subliminal Messages in Music Actually Real?" in the website http://www.examiner.com/article/are-subliminal-messages-music-actually-real which is written by Dustin M. Pardue.

   Subliminal means existing or operating below the threshold of consciousness or your subconscious mind.(http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/subliminal) The idea is to inculcate to your mind the hidden messages that songs has in them subconsciously. Subconsciously? How? In the article I have linked it said that "The technique of adding backward sounds and messages into a recording that was meant to be played forward is called backmasking. The first evidence of this came from the Beatles, who have often been accused of using backmasking for sinister purposes."

  When I read this article I said to myself, "What? The Beatles? Those peace loving hippies are evil?" Backmasking is used even in the 90s. They use the cassette tape are uses a pen to turn the cassette backwards, therefore it plays backwards revealing the hidden messages. An example is Britney Spears song called "Hit me baby one more time" which if played backwards it says “Sleep with me. I’m not too young.”

  Actually when I was researching about
this matter I discovered this. There is a band called
"Judas Priest" that was sued
because of their subliminal messages. The trial is about the suicide of 2 boys and the parents blame the band because the subliminal messages from the song of the band encouraged or subconsciously made the boys to commit suicide. One boy dies and one failed to kill himself. The name of the boys are Ray Belknap who died and Jay Vance who survived. This occurred on December 23, 1985.




   The effects of music in our life is truly great. If you want to be happy and bubbly you listen to happy songs. When you want to party you listen to the mind spinning house or dubstep music. When you just want to hit somebody in the face because of bad mood you might listen to heavy rock. I do not discourage you in listening to them, you are an individual. Your choices and what you do is up to you.

    Our world is full of weird and wonderful stuff. Even if sometimes we can't understand we still have this instinct of curiosity. Human mind is very complicated. Take control of your subconsciousness, feed it with good vibes and attitude. Become what you want to be and what you deserve to be. Subliminal messages are everywhere, you can even try reversing songs and be shocked of what you will discover. Then again I believe there is a reason for everything. Do as you will and live your life.
