Blogpost 4 : "Subconscious Mind : Lucid Dreaming"

Lucid Dreaming

Have you ever watched the movie "Inception?" Controlling your yourself within a dream? What if I told you that all of that may be true? Sounds like 9gag huh? Well a lot of posts about lucid dreaming are in 9gag and some are true, some are not. This topic is about the research and studies about mind controlling again. This post is much likely the hypnosis article. This one you can try on your own but I will share to you warnings about it.

Today I tell you about "Lucid Dreaming." I searched what lucid means in the dictionary and this came up easily understood; completely intelligible or comprehensible ; clear or transparent. Basically it is dreaming and what you create in your dream is all real. You control the scenario, people, things and yourself inside the dream. What ever you want comes true which is like Inception.

This legit article i found by Susan Blackmore titled Lucid Dreaming: Awake in Your Sleep found in the website called http://www.susanblackmore.co.uk/Articles/si91ld.html. This article tells about what Lucid Dreaming is and how it works.

There is a question in this article about whether a lucid dream is a dream or not? "The term lucid dreaming was coined by the Dutch psychiatrist Frederik van Eeden in 1913. It is something of a misnomer since it means something quite different from just clear or vivid dreaming. Nevertheless we are certainly stuck with it. Van Eeden explained that in this sort of dream "the re-integration of the psychic functions is so complete that the sleeper reaches a state of perfect awareness and is able to direct his attention, and to attempt different acts of free volition. Yet the sleep, as I am able confidently to state, is undisturbed, deep, and refreshing."  There are a lot of studies about this stuff. As it was stated that you have complete awareness and function inside your dream. It is popularly pictured as being in a trance or you are separated from your physical body.

There is this experiment that I read about which was the brainwave comparison made from real life actions against inside the lucid dream. The brainwave activity in the real world was the same of inside the lucid dream. It is being present in a world where your physical body is left by your spirit.

This occurrence was in religious teachings. The notion "Spirit is separated from your body and then goes to heaven or hell." Trying to lucid dream needs practice for beginners but in some cases some people has the ability to lucid dream at will. Imagine a dream that is not a dream that is reality which is not reality? Woah, cab you even understand that?

You can try lucid dreaming but I told you I there are warnings. In an experiment according to the article which was about "false awakenings." It is the level of lucid dreaming which you think you woke up but you didn't! Imagine of waking up in the morning brushing your teeth, getting a shower then dressing up but when you put your shirt on you realize you just woke up, again! There is an experiment similar to this which the a french zoologist had woke up 4 times to really reach the real world. Imagine waking up 4 times and knowing it was all just a dream?

As an own experience without even bullshitting you. I tryed lucid dreaming. It said in the article that i should let go of limitations, forget that lucid dreaming (in the back of my mind) was not true. It is removing rationality and completely being another form. So I tried it, what my conclusion when I woke up was not really clear. I think I did a lucid dream but didn't. I remember the beach and how it feels good to just chill but when I woke up I think I just closed my eyes, imagined those things then opened my eyes again. The reason might be that thought in my mind that I was fooling myself.

I read about another article about the "Levels of Lucidity in Conscious Dreams" written by Rebecca Turner from the site www.world-of-lucid-dreaming.com which explains the levels of your dream. As in the article there are unofficially 4 types of dreams.

  1. Non-Lucid Dream - This is the default dream state, where you are totally unaware that you are dreaming.
  2. Semi-Lucid Dream - The lowest levels of lucidity occur with a semi-lucid dream, which may involve the realization that you are dreaming.
  3. Fully Lucid Dream - A fully lucid dream means having complete awareness that you are in a dream world. You understand that it is the creation of your own mind, and that you can manipulate any element at will.
I think I had the Semi-Lucid Dream. Even from before I think I had them. Especially when I wake up in the morning focusing on going to school early which my sleep was just like a minute or seconds. There are these kind of stuff that better experienced that told. As they say "Experience is the best teacher." This I believe is true.

Lucid dreaming have been used for everything. Your sexual dreams, your dreams of the future, your dreams of having fun, your dreams of being terrified or your dreams that might become true. You can remove your bad vibes while in a lucid dream just like the hypnotherapy. I would just leave you one question : What if this reality was a dream, and when you die you wake up? I live in the present, I do my all to enjoy life and do my best to step up in it.
